There has been steady progress even with the rain since my last update. All of the bents are in place with sway braces and braces between bents. I created spacers for the stringers made out of 4×8’s. Each of the spacers are 8″ long. There will be four stringers made out of 2×8’s. Progress with the 2×8’s is much slower because they are all wet pressure treated lumber. Spacers are secured with 8″ heavy duty log screws and the stringers have a 2′ piece of 2×8 bolted between to give extra strength and then screwed to the spacers with 4 1/2″ heavy duty log screws. Outside of to outside of stringers completed is 37 1/2″. Ties will be 40″ spanning the four stringers. Here are a few pics.
