Mountain Division Extension – Switch – Update 09
looking forward to assembling it ever since it arrived. But my first priority was finishing the trestle—and now that it’s done and (maybe?) spring has arrived, I finally had the chance to tackle the switch.
From start to finish, assembly took less than two hours, even with a few breaks to warm up—and a few interruptions. I built it under my carport since I didn’t think I’d be able to carry it to the installation site by myself. I figured I’d need an extra set of hands, but to my surprise, I was able to carry it out there solo. Compared to a switch with wooden ties, this one is much lighter.
Construction was straightforward, and the instructions that came with it couldn’t have been clearer. I think most Live Steamers—even younger ones—could assemble an Accu-Tie switch with just a little supervision. If you’re looking for a quick, reliable solution for switches on your railroad, I highly recommend Accu-Tie. Their products are top quality, and their customer service is excellent.
