NVRR Station – Update #2
Over the past few weeks, during my day off, I’ve been able to make some significant progress on the Nasonville Valley Railroad Station. The front wall is now complete, along with the back wall—which I built in two sections—and both side walls.
At this point, all I need is for the snow to melt and for a stretch of good weather so I can prepare and pour the foundation. Once the foundation is in place and properly cured, I’ll be able to raise the walls and begin work on the roof and the covered waiting area.
In the photo below, the front wall with the bay ticket window is standing. The two side walls and the back wall are lying on their sides to the left of the picture. I’m not able to stand them up in the shop because they are about one inch too tall for the ceiling. The front wall will also receive an additional stabilizing member along the top.
